This web site was constructed by three prominent scientists that have conducted extensive research on Cuba’s healthcare system.
US blockade on medicines to Cuba has undergone extensive research: The US blockade on medicine to Cuba has been in existence since the enactment of Cuban Democracy Act over 13 years ago. Nothing has been done by the US Government to mitigate the pain, suffering and even death caused by this Act. In fact, the opposite is true. Through the enactment of the Helms-Burton Act in March 1996, the US Government created a further disincentive for companies throughout the world to donate and sell medicines to Cuba. In addition, the 1996 Act mandated that only the lawmakers in the United States Congress could overturn the blockade on medicines to Cuba.
What’s new in 2006? The US Government has declared a global campaign to win the hearts and minds of others in its war on terrorism. Is such a campaign realistic while the US Government continues its longstanding blockade on medicines to an innocent civilian population just 90 miles off its shore?
For the first time, three prominent medical scientists have constructed a web site in seven languages aimed at informing the world about this shockingly cruel act. All three scientists have conducted extensive research on Cuba’s healthcare system. Over the past decade, their findings have been published in major scientific medical journals ----- findings demonstrating the devastating effects of the US embargo on the health of the Cuban people.
This web site has been brought to the attention of all members of the United States Congress with a request to remedy this despicable situation.
Educational Videos: A 15- minute video contains sworn Congressional testimony showing that the US State Department has been engaged in a systematic cover-up of the fact that the US embargo against Cuba has led to an increase in death among the Cuban people.
Law Suit Filed with the US Office of Special Counsel: Disclosures contained in this law suit verify a substantial likelihood that the US Department of State engaged in illegality, abuse of authority, gross mismanagement and perpetuated a substantial and specific danger to public health and safety.
The Shoot Down: At a Congressional hearing, a former US State Department official and former high-level official of the anti-Castro Cuban-American National Foundation accused Cuba of shooting down two small aircraft from the United States "in cold blood". This web site contains the facts about the shoot down, including data taken from the investigations conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration in the United States and a United Nations Aviation Commission.
